MAPS 2019

Second Mexican AstroParticle School (MAPS)

The aim of this school is to provide theoretical, computational and experimental tools to students, posdocs and researchers, interested in answering fundamental questions on astroparticle physics confronting theoretical models with observations and experimental data.

Participants will attend theoretical courses and plenary talks on the state of the art  of astroparticle observatories such as HAWC and the Pierre Auger Observatory. Furthermore, there will be hands-on sessions, guided by experts, to develop projects in which participants will approach frontier research in astroparticle topics. 

There is not attendance fee but registration is mandatory, please fill in the form. Students, posdocs and researchers are welcomed. A small number of scholarships are available to selected students.

This first edition of MAPS is part of the interdisciplinary school MexiCOPAS and is organized as an event of the División de Ciencias e Ingenierías de la Universidad de Guanajuato Campus León.

Application

The Second Mexican AstroParticle School  will be part of the mexiCOPAS event, and you can choose to take part on the full event or only MAPS. To register please please fill in this  REGISTRATION FORM .

MAPS targets students at the undergraduate and graduate level. All participants MUST have basic knowledge of programming and it is expected that participants attend the full program.

Postdocs and faculty are very welcome to attend, but there is a $2,000 pesos registration fee for them. Please contact us if you need a fee waiver.

A small number of scholarships will be awarded to selected students. Those will be notified of our decision after the application deadline and will be requested to confirm their participation within the next ten days.

There is no limit in the number of Professors and Postdocs attending the school since they will be free to work on their own projects.
