Intermediate courses

INTERMEDIATE 1

  1. CosmoMC+CLASS (15:00-17:00): Francisco Linares
    • Learn how to simulate the linear evolution of the Universe (CLASS) and also how to infer the model parameters from data using MonteCarlo methods (CosmoMC)
  2. Supporting Vector Machines (15:00-17:00): Carlos Padierna

INTERMEDIATE 2

  1. Black holes shadows (9:00-11:00): Gustavo Gutierrez

INTERMEDIATE 3

  1. GACOMx (11:00-13:00): Irvin Martínez
    • The Gravity and Compact Object Modeling Mexico (GaCOMx) network is an innovative and interdisciplinary initiative to unravel the mysteries of the universe through the study of compact objects. In this theoretical course, we will develop gravitational theories using symmetry principles and methods from effective field theory. Additionally, within this theoretical framework, we will obtain the dynamics of binary black hole systems using diagrammatic techniques, which are valid within perturbation theory until shortly before they collide. The objective is to present the theoretical foundations for testing fundamental physics with gravitational waves.

INTERMEDIATE 4

  1. Testing dark matter interactions with astrophysical observables (15:00-16:00): Javier Reynoso
    • In this talk we quickly review the paradigm of dark matter indirect detection, i.e. if the dark matter interacts with the standard model particles we expect some signals across differente experiment set ups, like gamma-ray emission, synchrotron radiation, primary cosmic rays, heating of stars, among others. We discuss the basic of this detections and current limits.
  2. MG (16:00-17:00): Gustavo Niz
    • We will cover the last lecture of the GR course, focusing on Modified Gravity (MG).

INTERMEDIATE 5

  1. Auto-encoders (17:00-18:00): Rodrigo de la Cruz
    • We will see what auto-encoders, by revisiting the key ingredients of neural network and the basics of auto-encoders. We will get our hands dirty with some Jupyter notebooks!
  2. Generative adversarial networks (18:00-19:00): Uriel Dominguez

INTERMEDIATE 5

  1. DESI High: Alma González y Gustavo Niz
